Summer Placements

The Placement Cell is also involved in organizing industrial training for B. Pharmacy students. Though the B. Pharmacy course provides a basic understanding of pharmaceutical profession to the students, it is the one month long industrial training that acquaints them with actual operations of an industry. Our main goal is to provide early exposure to our students about the actual working experience in industries. Practical knowledge is equally important as Theoretical knowledge! The students record their experiences in a training report to be submitted after the training The placement training is usually conducted in the month of May-June every year. The placement cell co-ordinates the training program as follows

First Year

The first year students are expected to do training in conventional medical stores or online medical portal to provide them with the general knowledge of dispensing medicines and understand patient- pharmacist relationship. The student gets a general idea of how to set a pharmacy medical store with proper license and layout.

Second Year

Students from second year are expected to work at hospital pharmacies to give them an idea about the pharmaceutical working system of hospitals. They are provided with basic knowledge of inpatient care and dispensing as well as how different the inpatient and outpatient system works. The students leave with a more proper understanding of pharmacist-hospital system relationship.

Third Year

The third year students do training in Pharmaceutical companies for about one months and are given various research projects. This training is in turn helpful for the actual placement of student is companies in final year. They are provided with knowledge of actual manufacturing and dispensing process of products. Many students are placed in different sectors of the company like production, quality control and assurance, sales and marketing, accounts, research and development etc.

Final Year

In final year, the students are directly placed in companies and this is their final placement. They are selected through interviews and are placed with proper designation and salary.
